VEKKULA
Updated 06.09.99
The funhouse in the Linnanmaki amusement park is called the "Vekkula". It has been one of the favourite attractions of the park since 1961, when it was built. Vekkula is a two level, walk-thru funhouse, but you can return to or bypass most of the tricks inside.
The house has been renovated many times during its existence, but basically the layout and the main attractions are pretty much the same as in the original funhouse.
Front
The front was modified couple of years ago and a second
slide was installed at the same time.
Entrance
Let the adventure begin.
Hall of Mirrors
First you enter into a hall of mirrors.
Revolving Floor
Next there is a revolving floor. Try to walk around the tower
counter-clockwise!
Corridor
You'll continue with your journey through this corridor.
There are many surprises waiting, like shifting floorboards.
Tilted Room
Tilted room tells a difference between the Vekkula experts
and the novices. Real professional can walk through the room without touching the handrails.
Mirror Room
This room is completely surrounded by mirrors. You can
see a cloned army of yourself.
Lava Corridor
You leave the mirror room through an undulating floor.
Beware of the hot lava beneath you!
Spinning Tunnel
The walls and the lights rotate around you in this tunnel
(like having your typical saturday night). The walkway is stationary but
you feel like falling down. You can
bypass the tunnel if it actually happens to be your typical saturday night.
Ship
Do not get seasick inside the ship.
Submarine
You can skip the submarine too, if the tower is too narrow for you.
Clown
The clown performes you on the video screen
Suspended Bridge
You can scare the other visitors by jumping on the bridge.
Beach
A beautiful girl on the beach is ready to bare you all...
...but, where did she vanished?
Television
Press the button on the wall and you see the favourite
program of the Vekkula inmates.
Revolving Barrel
Revolving barrell is an old funhouse classic. You can bypass
the barrell if you do not like to stumble.
Funny Stairs
The left side and the left side of the stairs move
to the opposite directions. It takes practice to climb through these
stairs. You can also use the ordinary stairs or exit the funhouse if you hate the slide.
Slide
The exit from the Vekkula is through the slide.
There are two similar slides in parallel, because one could not handle the peak hours.
